What's the difference between a Supplex nylon and a Taslan nylon?

What's the difference between a Supplex nylon and a Taslan nylon?

SUPPLEX® is an Invista trademarked name for a "taslanated" nylon. This is the process that fluffs up the nylon fibers to give them the cottony hand. "Taslan" is a generic version of this same fabric.

These fabrics do come in different weights from about 2.5 oz/sq yd to 4 oz/sq yd. Sometimes you see these referred to as a "junior" Taslan for the very light weight Taslans to 2 and 3-ply for the medium weights, and 4-ply for the heaviest Supplex and Taslan fabrics. The fabrics most often come with a durable water repellent finish but can come without a DWR.
